Hard Cider Cheese Dip Perfect for any Event, Game Day or Party!
There is so many recipes out there that incorporate beer, and I feel like cider got left in the dust. Hard cider is an excellent ingredient to work with, so here is a beer cheese dip recipe that got revamped to include cider in replacement for the beer.
This recipe is such a quick fix and is sure to be a star at any party, potluck or game day snack table.

Recipe:
Ingredients
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
¾ - 1 cup hard cider
½ cup milk
1 tsp dijon mustard
1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
2½ cups of shredded cheese (Sharper the cheddar the better)
Procedure:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir constantly for about 2 minutes, toasting the flour in butter adds a great nutty flavour. Increase the heat to medium/high and whisk in the milk and the cider and bring to a simmer.
Add the rest of the remaining ingredients except for the cheese and stir occasionally until it starts to thicken. Start adding the cheese by handfuls and whisk in each handful before adding the next. (This is important so you achieve a nice and smooth texture)
Once all the cheese has been melted and been stirred in completely, serve it hot! It's excellent with pretzels, crackers or even apple slices.
Pro-tip: Feel like adding extra heat? try adding hot sauce or red pepper flakes.
